Government appoints Baikuntha Aryal as chief secretary

Kathmandu: The government has appointed Baikuntha Aryal as the chief secretary.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar decided to appoint Aryal as the chief secretary.

Aryal is the senior-most among the incumbent secretaries. Currently serving at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, his five-year term as secretary will end on June 18.

Shankar Das Bairagi, who is currently serving as the chief secretary, has the term of office till mid-October. However, A meeting of the Council of Ministers has appointed Bairagi as an advisor to the National Security Council, providing ministerial-level facilities.
