Kathmandu: Nepal Student Union (NSU), the student wing of the ruling Nepali Congress, has protested with a demand to propose drafts for education, including the Federal Education Act in Parliament.

The student leaders demonstrated in front of the federal parliament building on Wednesday. Police arrested the student leaders who started the protest with slogans.

Gobinda Koirala, Sujan Tamang, Jenish Kafle, Rajan Rokaya, Gaganraj Gajurel, Sudeep Shah, Mandeep Shah, Utsav Subdedi, Mausam Neupane, Rabin Tiwari, Ganesh Sarki, and Rabin Karki were some of the leaders to be arrested.

The demonstrators have raised their voices regarding the Higher Education Act 2076, Federal Education Act, and other education-related laws not being passed by the Parliament. As a result, a proper policy decision regarding education has not been constructed and education in universities, campuses, and schools is lagging.

The protestors blamed the authorities, for being irresponsible and for showing detriment to all the students. They even blamed the authorities for not proposing a draft relating to delicate and vital subjects like education in parliament. Student leaders warned to intensify the protest if the authority chose silence over their protest.
