Sloganeering against legal practitioners defending accused ones; 13 arrested (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: Student leaders have protested against the advocates who defended the fake Bhutanese Refugee scandal.

They were sloganeering against the advocates for defending the arrested accused ones in the case including Former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, government secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, Indrajit Rai; security advisor to the then Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa.

Police arrested 13 leaders of the All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary), who are close to the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal ‘Biplav C’, from the demonstration site. The demonstrators were sloganeering against the advocates when the discussion was going on in the Kathmandu District Court.

A skirmish also occurred between the protestors and the police. The demonstrators were chanting not to defend the accused in the felonious case. Former Attorney General, president of the bar and judges are discussing in the favor of accused ones.
