Kathmandu: Member of Parliament Gyanendra Shahi has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda.’
MP Shahi demanded the resignation of PM Dahal while participating in the budget-related discussion in parliament on Sunday.
Shahi said, ‘A writ has been registered in the Supreme Court against the felony case, regarding Civil War. The court has asked him to appear in court on 30th Jestha. In what designation will he appear in the court on Jestha 30? Will he appear as Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda or as Prime Minister? The crime of war was committed by a single person, not by the nation. Hence, the PM must immediately give his resignation and clear the way. It is not right for him to remain in the designation.’
Leylin Bista had registered the writ. The first hearing of the writ is on Jestha 30 (13th June). Earlier, the Supreme Court had refused to register the case.
The victims in the writ claimed that they were used in the beginning and were in expulsion termed as incapable which resulted in getting no compensation or rehabilitation scheme from both the government and the political party.
