Kathmandu: The session of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been called for 11 am today.
The HoR session is scheduled to be held on Monday at 11 am. The session was put off on Sunday due to the obstruction by the main opposition party.
The CPN-UML obstructed the Sunday’s meeting, saying HoR could not function until the government revokes citizenship bill and apologises for PM’s remarks on land exchange discussion during his visit to India.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have also supported UML’s demand on citizenship bill.
The Supreme Courton on Sunday issued a short-term interim order to halt the implementation of Citizenship Bill immediately. The UML is expected to allow parliament to function after the court’s order.
However, a leader from the party says that whether or not the HoR session today proceeds ahead will depend on the mood of Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
‘There is no point obstructing the parliament as the Supreme Court has already given an order on the issue,’ the leader said, ‘But all depends on Chairman Oli’s mood.’
