Kathmandu: Member of Parliament (MP) Gagan Kumar Thapa has demanded resolving of the repeating issues during the registration of the Nepal-made electric motorcycle ‘Yatri.’
Thapa, while speaking during the Parliament meeting, said that the registration of Yatri’s motorcycle was again facing a problem although the procedure was started at the direction of the Prime Minister.
Thapa said, ‘Government was applauded when the registration of Yatri motorcycle was smoothened on the direction of Prime Minister. But, the problem has again repeated. The government is saying that a fine must be taken if the vehicle is not registered within 35 days of clearing the VAT bill. There was a time when there was no law. But when the law has been made, the concerned authority is questioning the reason behind the late registration of the vehicle. You must pay a fine.’
Thapa questioned, ‘Is it justifiable to make entrepreneurs pay the price for the weakness of government? The government, which is trying to make policy regarding the manufacturing of Nepal-made products, must not make demotivate entrepreneurs and must maintain the honor of the policy. ‘
