Kathmandu: Kathmandu District Court has extended the judicial custody period of alleged people, in the fake Bhutanese refugee scandal, for another three days.
The court gave permission to keep 14 people including former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, and others in custody for additional three days today.
Police were not able to submit the investigation report of the scandal case. Although the Public Prosecution Office has directed the police administration to submit the report relating to the case, police said the investigation was still to be completed.
According to Kathmandu District Police Circle. all the phases to be completed during the investigation have not been completed.
Police arrested Keshav Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Tek Gurung, and Sagar Rai on the accusation of collecting money for taking Nepali citizens to America as fake Bhutanese refugee cases on 12th Chaitra, 2079.
Their statement acted as evidence for Kathmandu Police Circle to arrest other people in the case.
