Office bearers of NC meeting today, decision to suspend Khand likely

Kathmandu: Office bearers of Nepali Congress are meeting today following the arrest of party leader and former home minister Balkrishna Khand.

Today’s meeting will discuss the situation arising out of the arrest of Khand. NC also held initial discussion about Khand in the meeting held yesterday but no decision was taken as the police investigation against him is underway.

General secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma on Wednesday stated that the party should cooperate in the ongoing investigation by suspending Khand.

It is likely that the meeting today will suspend Khand.

Kathmandu District Court ordered yesterday to remand Khand in police custody for four days to investigate the fake Bhutanese refugee scandal. He was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
