Maharajgunj-Chappal Karkhana Road expansion at a snail’s pace (Photos)

Kathmandu: The expansion work of Maharajgunj-Chappal Karkhana road, under the 2nd section of the ring road expansion, is progressing at a snail’s pace.
Though the Division Road Office, Minbhawan assigned the contract to M/S Ambuja-Kali S.K.JV in February 2025 (Falgun 2081) to complete the expansion work within June 2025( Asar, 2082), the progress does not hint at meeting the deadline.

The road, around 700 meters from Maharajgunj Chowk- Chappal factory, will have 10 lanes, including a service lane.
Likewise, work on installing a curbstone and constructing a drainage in the road is underway.
