Kathmandu: The rainy season turns Kathmandu’s vegetable and fruit markets into a mess.
The vegetable market is usually muddy. On top of that, the markets become slushy after the rainfall. And even Kuleshwor’s fruit market has become slushy.

The sludgy state of the market has made it difficult for wholesalers and even customers to conduct market activities.
Vegetable traders said such problems repeated every rainy season due to the lack of an organised market structure and a weak drainage system. Last year, the rainy season Bagmati River also caused havoc in the fruit market.
