Kathmandu: Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has taken part in rice planting on his own ancestral farmland in Khoplang, Gorkha, as part of the Asar 15 celebration.
Marking the occasion with both tradition and a modern touch, Dr. Bhattarai personally operated a tiller (tractor) to plough the field before joining others in planting rice seedlings.
His involvement not only symbolized a return to his agricultural roots but also highlighted the importance of preserving and modernizing farming practices amid Nepal’s growing loss of arable land.
