Farmers celebrate 22nd National Paddy Day (Photos)

Kathmandu: Farmers across the nation have celebrated the 22nd National Paddy Day.

Nepali month Asar is taken as a favourable time for planting paddy. Asar 15 is marked as the National Paddy Day.

On the occasion of the 22nd National Paddy Day on Sunday, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ram Nath Adhikari, planted paddy, organised by the Government of Nepal, at the premises of the National Agricultural Research Centre.

This day is also celebrated as the Ropai Jatra. There is also a tradition of eating Dahi and Chiura (Curd and Beaten Rice) on this day.
