Kathmandu: Runner Raman Subedi has completed the Samui Half Marathon in Thailand, carrying the ‘Nepal–UAE’ flag.
Subedi, who has been competing in prestigious international marathons with the Nepali flag, completed the Samui Half Marathon in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday — this time carrying both the Nepal and UAE flags. He finished the prestigious Half Marathon in 2 hours and 21 minutes.
For the past 10 years, Subedi has been living and working in the UAE. He has participated in international marathons carrying the Nepalese flag.
‘Nepal is my homeland, and the UAE is my workplace. I have been competing in international marathons with the Nepalese flag. This time, in Thailand, I added the UAE flag as well. This also reflects the mutual bond between the two nations,’ he said.
Subedi said his goal is to continue running in international marathons with the Nepali flag.
He has already participated in the Berlin Marathon in Germany, the Lisbon Marathon in Portugal, the Dubai Marathon in the UAE, the Mysore Marathon in India, the Samarkand Marathon in Uzbekistan, and many other international marathons.
