Sindhupalchok: The Lions Clubs have distributed educational materials, school bags, and uniforms to 30 students of Sri Panch Kanya Community Basic School, located in Ward No. 9 of Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality.

The joint effort of Lions Club of Kathmandu Water Sports and the Lions Club of Sunrise, both of which operate under Lions Club International District 325G, initiated the distribution campaign.

According to Indu Wagle, President of the Lions Club of Kathmandu Water Sports, the students attending the school from nursery to Grade 3 mainly come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and the support was provided as part of the club’s social responsibility program.

The distribution program was conducted in coordination with the Sindhu Tourism Entrepreneurs Association. As part of the event, a clean‑up campaign was also organized at the “start point” area of Lower Bhote Koshi, where rafting activities commence.

According to Narayan Shrestha, a tourism entrepreneur and president of the association, a significant amount of waste is left behind by domestic tourists along the riverbanks. To maintain cleanliness, local entrepreneurs have been conducting clean‑up drives at the starting point area at least once every 15 days.

Agni Bilas Adhikari, Chief Governor’s Aide of District G, stated that the clubs under his district have been engaged in social responsibility activities since their establishment.
