Kathmandu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited the Air India plane crash site in Ahmedabad and also met injured people in the hospital.

The BBC cited an official saying it is not yet clear how many people were killed on the ground. The sole survivor, British national Vishwashkumar Ramesh, who sat in seat 11A, said that he had no idea how he survived.

Air India stated that the flight had 169 Indian nationals, 53 Britons, 7 Portuguese nationals, and 1 Canadian on board.

Likewise, families gave DNA samples to help in identifying the bodies.
