Kathmandu: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Sangita Pahadi, Managing Director of Nepal Telecom.
On Sunday, the CIAA filed the case at the Special Court in Kathmandu against Pahadi, former Managing Director of Telecom Sunil Paudel, and 18 others.
Similarly, a corruption case has also been filed against the then Chief Technical Officer Pratibha Shrestha, then Chief Financial Officer Rajendra Shrestha, the then Chief Operating Officer Bhavindralal Upadhyaya, and Shailesh Shrestha, Director of Araniko International Pvt. Ltd., among others.
They are accused of irregularities in the procurement of Nepal Telecom’s new billing system.
According to Yagya Raj Joshi, spokesperson for the Special Court, a claim of Rs. 334.8 million (Rs. 33 crore 48 lakh 17 thousand 430 rupees and 7 paisa) has been made against the accused.
