Kathmandu: With the onset of the monsoon, the condition of the Sanga–Dhulikhel–Khawa road has become deplorable. As the construction work has not been completed on time, passengers traveling along this route are suffering due to the presence of mud and dust.

Due to delays in the road construction, roads that were demolished for reconstruction have become accident-prone, leading to injuries among passengers. The Sanga–Dhulikhel–Khawa road section, which has been deteriorating for several years, was planned to be widened and blacktopped.

Considering the load-bearing capacity required for freight vehicles using this road, the office had planned, for the first time in Nepal, to lay a 20-centimeter-thick cement-mixed base over gravel, followed by two layers of blacktopping: DBM (Dense Bituminous Macadam) and asphalt.

This road connects to Nepal’s northern border with China via the Araniko Highway and leads to Tatopani in Sindhupalchok, as well as Dolakha and Ramechhap districts.
