Gwarko overpass reaches its final phase (Photos)

Lalitpur:  Work on the overpass being built at Gwarko in Lalitpur is currently underway to make it usable for vehicles by the end of this month of Jestha. The construction work of the project has reached its final phase.

The construction company has stated that it plans to complete the work on the Gwarko overpass by Jestha 15 (May 29)and hand it over to the government.

Even after the initial contract period expired and an additional year was granted, the work was still not completed. As a result, the Department of Roads has been imposing penalties on the construction company since last Poush to ensure the work continues.

The deadline of the contract was Falgun 12, 2080 B.S. After that, the deadline was extended to Poush 8, 2081 BS. The contract to complete the construction within two years was signed with Ashish–Samanantar JV on Falgun 12, 2078 B.S.

After the completion of the construction, vehicles traveling on the Kalanki–Koteshwor section will use the overpass, while vehicles traveling to Gwarko–Lamatara and Gwarko–Patan will use the surface road under the overpass.

The overpass construction will make travel for vehicles on the Chakrapath’s Satdobato–Koteshwor section and the Mangalbazaar–Imadol–Lubhu section safer, easier, and more organized.
