Kathmandu: The BP Highway, which was closed to traffic, has been reopened after 16 hours.
The roadway was closed after the flood in the Roshi River washed away a diversion on the highway at Mamti, Roshi Rural Municipality-12 of Kavrepalanchok on Monday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale, 2 vehicular traffic resumed since Tuesday afternoon after the repair of the diversion.
The road has been blocked since Monday night after the flood in the Roshi River. The road was reopened with the help of the police and locals at the initiative of the Road Division Office, Bhaktapur, said Chandra Bahadur Lama, an employee at the Road Division Office, Bhaktapur.
The flood that occurred in the Roshi River from September 26 to 28 last year had caused damage to various sections of the B.P. Highway. After that, the Road Division Office had operated traffic by building temporary diversion along the riverside.
