Kathmandu: Chief Whip of the CPN (UML), Bhagawati Neupane, has said the policies and programmes presented by the government for the coming fiscal year 2025/26 have shown a determination to change the development culture.
Taking part in the discussions on the policies and programmes meeting of the National Assembly on Tuesday, she argued that there was no reason to protest the government’s policies and programmes as it is scientific, grounded in reality and relevant than those of previous years.
‘We cannot make the people prosperous and happy with the status quo. So the policies and programme have internalized the weakness in development model that we have been adopting’ said Neupane.
She said she welcomed and supported the policies and programmes. Neupane mentioned, ‘Out of 18,000 projects of the federation, some of them are abandoned and unnecessary. So development could not take place as expected. The policies and programmes have adopted the issue of changing the development model for the first time.’
She further said the government unveiled the policies and programmes addressing the issues raised in course of discussion on previous polices and programmes. Strengthening of federal democratic republic, protecting, amendment and implementation of constitution and policies stability are positive aspects of policies and programs.
