Kathmandu: The Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi has stated that efforts are underway to ensure an impartial investigation into the death of Nepali student Prisha Sah, who was studying at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
Issuing a statement, the Embassy stated that it received information about Prisha’s death on Thursday night, after which Ambassador Dr. Shankar Sharma contacted the Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi.
The Embassy states that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nepal and the Prime Minister’s Office are also providing directions regarding the case.
The embassy also noted that it has been maintaining constant coordination with Indian authorities regarding all Nepali students studying at the campus.
This is the second death of a Nepali student at KIIT in the past three months. Earlier, Prakriti Lamsal from Butwal was found dead in the hostel of the same campus. Now, Sah has been found dead.
