Kathmandu: Brazilian World Cup-winning football legend Roberto Carlos has arrived in Nepal. Carlos reached Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, on Tuesday morning.

According to the organizer of Nepal Sports and Event Management Pvt. Ltd, Carlos is visiting Nepal to watch matches of the Nepal Super League (NSL).

Carlos was initially scheduled to arrive in Nepal on Baisakh 5 (mid-April), but his visit was postponed due to food poisoning.

Carlos, a former player of the Spanish football giant Real Madrid, was part of the Brazilian team that won the World Cup in 2002.

Known for playing in the left-back position, Carlos was considered a free-kick specialist. He scored some of the most remarkable free-kick goals in football history.

The NSL final is scheduled for Baisakh 13 (April 26). Earlier, Italian World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon had also visited Nepal.
