Durga Prasai arrested from India

Kathmandu: Durga Prasai, the so-called “commander” of the pro-monarchist movement that took place on Chaitra 15 (March 28), has been arrested from India. He was apprehended in the Indian state of Assam.

According to a family source, the Assam police are preparing to hand Durga Prasai over to the Nepal Police at the eastern border point, Kakarbhitta.

Prasai went missing following the movement on Chaitra 15. Claiming that his life was in danger, he repeatedly released video messages on social media.

Issuing a video message on Wednesday, Prasai said his life was in danger, and he was ready to come out in public within 24 hours under the observation of human rights activists, legal professionals, and journalists.
