RSP files complaint in NHRC, alleging ‘police brutality’ against Lamichhane

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has filed a complaint in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). RSP alleged ‘police brutality’ during the arrest of the party Chairperson, Rabi Lamichhane.

RSP Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar, Deputy General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, and other leaders submitted a complaint to NHRC on Wednesday.

They demanded an investigation and taking of necessary action. Deputy General Secretary Burlakoti said the NHRC Chairperson gave assurance of taking action after conducting an investigation.

Police arrested former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane in his residence in Budhanilkantha on Friday. He was arrested following an order of the Udaypur High Court, Butwal, in a cooperative fraud case.
