NC: Prime Minister should negotiate with agitating teachers

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has said the government should negotiate with agitating teachers.

Issuing a press release on Monday, NC Central Education Department Head Naina Singh Mahar said the Prime Minister should only negotiate and have conservation with teachers, as per the previous agreement.

‘To find a long-term solution to the current situation, I urge the government leadership to initiate high-level talks and dialogue to address the demands of the protesting teachers, based on the previous agreements and understandings reached with the Teachers’ Federation,’ reads the statement.

Likewise, the statement also mentions that academics have been affected due to a general academic strike announced by the Nepal Teachers Federation.
