PM Oli in Kulman’s case: Dismissal for sure in absence of loyalty towards Minister

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the opposition should not obstruct the parliament for dismissing Kulman Ghising from the post of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director (MD).

Addressing the HoR meeting on Monday, PM Oli said, ‘Parliament should not be obstructed, just for 1 employee.’ He said that instead of discussing employees in parliament, the proceedings must be governed as per the law.

The Prime Minister said that action must be taken against any employee who doesn’t show loyalty towards the Departmental Minister and Law, resulting in transfer or dismissal. He reiterated that such action was adopted not only by the current government but also by the previous government.

‘In past few days, parliament has been obstructed. It is normal to raise question regarding good governance and upon its compromise. But, currently the subject is normal. A question has been raised about an employee. Obstruction of the house session has hindered parliamentary proceedings.’
