HoR meeting to be held on Thursday

Kathmandu: The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), the lower house of the Federal Parliament, has been postponed.

The meeting was postponed for half an hour after it was obstructed by the opposition parties at the outset on Wednesday. Speaker Devraj Ghimire informed the meeting would be held on Thursday after the opposition lawmakers disrupted the meeting for the second time as well.

Earlier, Speaker Ghimire repeatedly issued rulings with requests to the lawmakers of the opposition parties to create an environment for conducting the house proceedings. At the outset of  today’s meeting, opposition lawmakers disrupted the meeting, protesting the government’s decision to dismiss Kulman Ghising as Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

They  disrupted the HoR meeting demanding that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli should answer in the House on the issue.

The House of Representatives meeting will be held at 11:00 a.m on Thursday.
