Pope Francis to be discharged from hospital

Kathmandu: Pope Francis will be discharged from Gemelli Hospital, Rome on Sunday.

The BBC cited Dr. Sergio Alfieri as saying the Pope, the Head of the Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City, presented ‘2 very critical episodes’ where his ‘ life was in danger’ during the past 5 weeks.

According to doctors, although Pope (88 years old) no longer suffers from pneumonia, he has not completely recovered but his health is stable.

Before returning to his residence at the Vatican, Pope will offer his blessing from the hospital window. This will be his first appearance for blessing after being admitted to hospital.

Pope, was admitted to the hospital on February 14, due to a severe respiratory infection. The infection worsened in double pneumonia.
