Israel’s air strikes in Gaza: Hamas leader and his wife killed

Kathmandu: The Israeli military has hiked up air attacks on the Gaza Strip in the past few hours.

According to Aljazeera, the attacks have been intensified in the city of Khan Younis; the southern region of Gaza.

A member of the Hamas Political Bureau, Salah al-Bardawil, along with his wife was killed in the west of the city. They were killed in the al-Mawasi area. It was one of two attacks in that region.

The situation remains critical in the region. Israeli drones are hovering in the central region of Gaza.

There has been a clear escalation in Gaza since Israel unilaterally broke the ceasefire. With this, Israel has been heavily attacking populated neighbourhoods, including schools, hospitals, and mosques.

There’s been no direct confrontation between Israeli soldiers and Hamas fighters on the ground so far. Israeli military led incursions in Rafah in the south and Beit Hanoon in the north. They also partially took control of the Netzarim Corridor.
