FSU Election: ANNFSU secures victory in President; NSU victorious in Secretary and Treasurer

Kathmandu: All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU), the student wing of the CPN (UML), has secured victory in the election for the presidency of the Free Students’ Union (FSU) at Nepal Commerce Campus, Minbhawan.

After the completion of the vote counting on Wednesday morning, ANNFSU candidate Bishal Rokaha emerged victorious in the FSU election.

However, candidates from the Nepali Congress-affiliated Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) won the positions of secretary and treasurer. Gyanu Dahal was elected as secretary, while Sushil Khadka secured the treasurer position.

Rokaha of ANNFSU defeated NSU candidate Rabin Wali to win the presidency. At the campus, which has over 6,000 voters, Rokaha received 1,053 votes.

Similarly, his closest competitor, NSU’s Wali, secured 860 votes. For the secretary position, NSU’s Dahal defeated ANNFSU’s Milan Ojha.

Likewise, NSU’s Khadka defeated ANNFSU’s Saugat Puri to secure the treasurer position.

ANNFSU dominated the members’ positions, with almost 100% representation. The elected members from ANNFSU include Mausam Acharya, Deepak Kumar Yadav, Kritika Badal, Rhythm Thapa, Anup Kandel, Lukesh Budha, and Regina Kadariya. From NSU, only Ranbir Mishra was elected as a member.

The Free Students’ Union elections were held on Tuesday at most constituent campuses under Tribhuvan University.
