RPP to exhibit its strength by welcoming former King

Kathmandu: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is exhibiting its strength in the capital Kathmandu.

The party, which advocates for the monarchy, is organizing this demonstration as part of a program where former King Gyanendra Shah will be returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara on Sunday.

Along with RPP leaders and activists, monarchist supporters are planning to go to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to welcome former King Shah. According to the RPP, after receiving the former King, the rally will proceed towards Nirmal Niwas in Maharajgunj.

RPP spokesperson Gyanendra Shahi requested everyone to arrive at the airport by 1 p.m. today to welcome the former King.

‘I sincerely invite everyone to be present at Kathmandu Airport to welcome the King on February 25 at 1 p.m.,’ he wrote on social media. He requested everyone to reach the airport with the convenient transport medium.

On the occasion of Democracy Day, which falls on the 7th of Falgun, former King Shah appealed to support the restoration of the monarchy, stating that the time has come for the return of the monarchy.

Inspired by this, monarchist supporters, including the RPP, have been actively protesting. They are now claiming that the monarchy will soon be restored.

This has created a ripple effect in the recent politics. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, also the Chairperson of the CPN (UML), warned the advocates of the monarchy to avoid the attempts of restoring the monarchial system.
