Pumdikot: To experience divinity of Lord Shiva (Photo Feature)

Kaski: Pumdikot in Pokhara has turned into a major destination for both domestic and international tourists.

Located at an altitude of about 1500 meters above sea level, the construction of a 52-foot-tall massive statue of Lord Shiva is the attraction of Pumdikot. The devotees can experience getting closer to Lord Shiva.

The place has become a center of faith for religious tourists from both Nepal and India. It is estimated that the completion of the statue of Shiva, along with other structures, will cost about 40 crore rupees.

The statue is claimed to be the tallest statue of Lord Shiva in Nepal. The statue of Shiva placed here has been brought from Mathura, India. The statue is made of fiber on the outside and steel on the inside.

Along with the tallest statue of Lord Shiva, there will be 108 Shiva Lingas, 108 Swargadwari Steps, Sumeru Mountain, Guru Maharaj Ashram, Green Garden, Peace Pillar, Senior Citizen Meeting Center, Meditation Center, and construction of other structures to enhance the beauty of the place.

When the weather is clear, one can experience the scenic views of the Himalayas, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, as well as the Fewa Lake and Pokhara Valley.
