17th session of National Assembly begins

Kathmandu: National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal has expressed the belief that all the National Assembly members would play a significant role in taking the NA to a new height.

Welcoming all NA members to the 17th session of the National Assembly, commenced on Friday, Chairperson Dahal urged the NA members to make themselves active to carry out the activities of the NA and its committees in a systematic and disciplined manner as before.

He said that out of 65 bills registered in the NA so far, 34 bills were already authenticated, 12 bills were withdrawn by the government and five became inactive.

Similarly, out of 14 bills that are under consideration at the NA, seven were sent to the House of Representatives with message.

Earlier, at the beginning of the meeting, tribute was paid to all the known and unknown martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation, by observing one minute’s silence.

Reports of various committees as well as various ordinances would be tabled in today’s meeting.
