Kathmandu: The photo exhibition ‘Mustang Nostalgia: a two-decade odyssey’ is going on at the Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal.

The exhibition comprises 30 photographs from Mustang captured by Kishor Kayastha.

The 30 panoramic photographs of Mustang are the culmination of Kayastha’s two decades of exploration and dedication. Kayastha has been successful in capturing Mustang’s breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and cultural mystique through his lens.

The photographs are a blend of tradition with contemporary artistry. All the photographs have pushed the boundaries of landscape photography.

The stills not only offer not just scenes to the viewers but also immersive experiences that transcend time.

Kayastha’s first photo exhibition in 2001, can be regarded as a milestone in Nepal’s photography as a viable art form and profession. In a country where formal photography training was scarce, his relentless pursuit of excellence set new standards.

Over the years, he has seamlessly navigated the worlds of fine art, commercial, editorial, and documentary photography, earning accolades for his ability to balance technical mastery with creative expression. And his contribution to the art field is still going on.

Gehendra Dhimal Foundation organized the exhibition in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy based in Kathmandu. The exhibition entitled will conclude on January 13 (Poush 29).
