Police arrest 10 Indian nationals with Nepali citizenship cards

Kathmandu: The Kathmandu police have arrested 10 Indian nationals on the charge of taking Nepali citizenship cards by producing fake documents. A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Minbhawan, apprehended them from various parts of Kathmandu Valley.

The police made them public amid a press conference today. The arrestees are found to have obtained Nepali citizenship certificates on different dates from the district administration offices, Rupandehi, Bara, and Parsa by producing fake documents, said Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Manoj KC.

He said that the police had also seized Nepal citizenship cards, voter identity cards, Indian passports, and Aadhar cards from them. The arrestees have been identified as Bharat Prasad Gupta, 55; Rahul Gupta, 30; Gyanmati Devi Gupta, 50; Gopal Gupta, 39; Ram Sundar Gupta, 44; Ram Prabesh Gupta, 43; Bharat Gupta, 46; Snehalata Gupta, 42; Mindevi Gupta, 49, and Rajesh Kumar Gupta, 52, all from Bihar in India.

All of them were currently living in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley.
