Military stops police from arresting South Korea’s suspended President Yeol

Kathmandu: South Korean Police have adjourned the arrest of suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol, after 6 hours of security standoff,

Yonhap news outlet said that the military and United Nations Security Service Officials formed a human wall, and used vehicles to obstruct the way of the police team.

Yeol is being investigated for misusing his power and inciting a rebellion by attempting to impose martial law in December.

Likewise, the opposition-led party impeached Yeol and suspended him from the post.

Seoul’s court had issued an arrest warrant earlier this week after he ignored 3 summons to be present for investigation.

Dozens of police vans lined up outside Yeol’s residence on Friday morning. 20 teams of police reached Yeol’s residence at 7: 00 a.m.

However, after Yeol’s security forces and the military clashed with the police. The police said to stop the mission to arrest Yeol.
