South Korea’s Plane Crash Update: Death toll reaches 120

Kathmandu: The death toll of the people, who have been killed in a plane crash in South Korea, has reached 120.

The BBC cited the country’s fire service as saying the plane carrying 181 passengers crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea.

South Korea’s National Fire Agency said the two survivors, a man and a woman, were both flight crews found in the tail side of the aircraft after the crash. The rescue team have taken them to the hospital.

According to Yonhap news agency, all domestic and international flights from Muan International Airport have been canceled.  The airport’s departure and arrival board on its website shows nearly all flights canceled.

The CEO of airline Jeju Air has publicly apologized to the victims of the crash. Earlier, the National Fire Agency said out of the 62 people killed included 37 women and 25 men.

The cause of the crash is still not known, but local media reported it may have been caused by birds getting caught in the plane’s systems.
