110 ropanis of land to be acquired for construction of substation

Kathmandu: Efforts are launched to acquire 110 ropanis of land in Humla district for the construction of a 400/132 KV substation at Sarkeghat rural municipality in the district.

The National Transmission Grid Company has requested the District Administration Office, Humla, seeking cooperation to link the hydropower project to be built in Humla and Mugu districts to the national transmission.

Chief Executive Officer at National Transmission Grid Company, Dr. Netra Gyawali, said that the Sarkeghat substation was being established to link the 2,500MW of electricity to be produced from Humla Karnali and Mugu Karnali to the national transmission grid.

The construction of a substation would be a milestone for the hydropower development of the Humla and Mugu districts, thereby accelerating developments.

The transmission line runs on the stretch of 220 km from Dodhara of Kailali to Humla via Kalikot district. It is under construction from Dodhara, Kailai to Phukot, Kalikot.
