Woman Gang-raped: Police arrest 3 teenagers

Kathmandu: The investigation has revealed that a 23-year-old woman, who was found in a partially conscious state, was raped.

The woman, from Jahada Rural Municipality in Morang, after regaining her consciousness, stated that she had been raped. The police have arrested three individuals based on her statement.

According to Morang Police sources, Mohammad Ramzan and Sonu Kumar Sah, both from Katahari Rural Municipality-2, and Mohammad Gulzar from Araria, Kushakata, India have been arrested. All the accused are 19 years old.

The 23-year-old woman from Jahada Rural Municipality-3 was found unconscious approximately two kilometers away from her home, in the middle of a bamboo grove located in a field in Katahari Rural Municipality-2, on Tuesday. Her mouth was gagged with a scarf, and her hands and legs were tied.

The woman went for a “morning walk” and was later found in a semi-conscious state in the bamboo grove, her hands and feet tied, and her mouth covered with a cloth.

She was gang-raped while she was out for her morning walk. The woman is currently receiving treatment at Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar.
