Kathmandu: Karnali Yaks have booked their spot in Qualifier 2 of Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Karnali Yaks defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 21 runs at T.U International Cricket Ground on Wednesday.
Chitwan Rhinos failed to chase a target of 176 runs. The team scored 154 runs in 20 overs, losing 9 wickets.
Ravi Bopara scored a half –century for Chitwan Rhinos. He scored 53 runs out of 34 balls and smashed 4 sixes and 3 boundaries. Captain Kushal Malla contributed 21 runs and Bipin Rawal scored 18 runs for the team.
Zeeshan Maqsood took 3 wickets for Karnali Yaks, Captain Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav took 2 wickets and Bipin Sharma took 1 wicket for the team.
In the first innings, Karnali Yaks scored 175 runs in 20 overs, losing 6 wickets.
Jaykishan Kolsawala scored a half-century fo Karnali Yaks. He scored 53 runs out of 39 balls and smashed 2 sixes and 6 boundaries for the Karnali Yaks.
William Bosisto also scored a half-century. Bosisto scored 52 runs out of 39 balls. He smashed 2 sixes and 3 boundaries. Chadwick Walton was unbeaten at 46 runs.
Sohail Tanvir took 2 wickets for Chitwan Rhinos, while Captain Kushal Malla, Sharad Vesawkar, and Ravi Bopara took 1 wicket each.
