Kathmandu: An Indian citizen has been arrested from Siraha, who is involved in a theft case in various districts of Madhesh Province.
Police arrested Aarif Khan, who is known as Aarif Hussain from the Nepal- India border area in Siraha on Saturday.
According to the District Police Station Information Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Birendra Paswan, a case of robbery, and organized crime against Hussain was filed, in various places in Nepal including India.
Likewise, Hussain was a defendant in the case, where an armed group looted 38 lakhs rupees in the NMB Branch located at Mahottari Rural Municipality-2 on May 30 (Jestha 16).
Similarly, DSP Paswan said Hussain was also a defendant in a case of pointing a pistol at a Global IME Bank employee and looted 9 lakh rupees at Bataha Bridge located in Mirchaiya Municipality-3, Siraha on February 22, 2023 ( Falgun 10, 2079).
Police said Hussain is the leader of a group of bandits, who were committing an organized crime in Nepal, Mahottari Police arrested some other people of the group.
The group has been committing theft and robbery not only in Nepal but also in India. DSP Paswan said Indian police announced to offer a reward of 25,000 rupees to anyone who informs about them.
