Lumbini Lions wrap up NPL journey with defeat against Karnali Yaks

Kathmandu: Lumbini Lions have failed to secure a win in their last match in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Karnali Yaks defeated the Lumbini Lions by 5 runs at the T.U. International Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur. This is Karnali Yaks 4th victory. Lumbini won only 1 out of the 7 matches played in the NPL.

Lumbini Yaks failed to chase the target of 129 runs. The team scored 123 in 20 overs, losing 7 wickets.

Tom Moores scored 36 runs and Sundeep Jora contributed 24 runs for the Lumbini Lions. The rest of the players failed to score two-digit runs.

Zeeshan Maqsood took 2 wickets for the Karnali Yaks, Captain Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav, Bipin Sharma, and William Bosisto took 1 wicket each for the team.

In the first innings, Karnali Yaks scored 128 runs in 20 overs with a loss of 8 wickets.

William Bosisto scored 44 runs for the Karnali Yaks.  Arjun Gharti added 25 runs, and Babar Hayat 20 runs for the team.

Bikash Aagri took 3 wickets for the Lumbini Lions. Tilak Bhandari took 2 wickets, and Ramon Simmonds, Saad Bin Zafar, and Captain Rohit Paudel took 1 wicket each for the team.

Now, Biratnagar Kings will face Chitwan Rhinos in the next match.
