Sudurpaschim Royals register 3rd victory; Lumbini Lions’ 3rd defeat in a row

Kathmandu: Sudurpaschim Royals have registered their third victory in the Nepal Premiere League (NPL).

Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Lumbini Lions by 45 runs at T.U. International Cricket Ground on Saturday.  With this win, Sudurpaschim Royals registered their third victory and Lumbini Lions registered their third defeat in a row.

Lumbini Lion failed to chase the target of 188 runs. They scored 142 runs with a loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.

The furious batting of Bibek Yadav also could not secure the victory for the team. Bibek was unbeaten at 77 runs. He smashed three boundaries and seven sixes out of 54 balls.

Sundeep Jora scored 20 runs and Dinesh Adhikari 14 runs for the team.

In the first innings, Sudurpaschim Royals scored 187 runs in 20 overs with a loss of 4 wickets.

Saif Zaib scored 90 runs out of 61 balls for Sudurpaschim Royals. He smashed 6 boundaries and 5 sixes. Captain Dipendra Singh Airee was unberaten at 39 runs.

Ramon Simmonds took 2 wickets for the Lumbini Lions. Rohit Paudel and Bibek Yadav took 1 wicket each for the team.

Now, Karnali Yaks and Biratngar Kings will compete in the next match.
