102-year-old Lamichhane: I may not live long, but I voted as there must be better nation for progeny

Kathmandu: A 102-year-old Govinda Lamichhane has expressed his unwavering faith in democracy by casting his vote in an ongoing local-level by-election at Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City -12.

Lamichhane utilized his voting rights from the Bishnu Jyoti School polling booth and cast his vote to elect the right candidate for Ward Chairperson, on Sunday.

‘The future of the nation is in our hands. I may not live long, but I voted as there must be a better nation for progeny,’ said Lamichhane after voting.

The Election Commission managed 2 polling booths for the by-election. The participation of 102-year-old Lamichhane in the by-election is an inspiration to all the youths.
