Kathmandu: Voting for the local-level by-elections is ongoing in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. The voting began at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
Although schools and educational institutions are closed today for the by-elections in Kirtipur, government offices remain open, and banks and financial institutions are also operating as usual.
To facilitate voters, vehicular movement has been decided to be unrestricted.

While selling alcoholic beverages around polling stations is prohibited, other shops will remain open as usual. The decision aims to make election management smooth and minimize disruptions to daily life.
The Election Commission has planned special monitoring to maintain peace and security and is urging voters to cast their votes without hesitation.
By-elections are being held in some parts of the country for a total of 41 positions, including one mayor and one deputy mayor in municipalities, two chairpersons and four vice-chairpersons in rural municipalities, and 33 ward chairpersons.
Voting is underway in Kirtipur Municipality for the mayor, as well as ward chairpersons for wards 1 and 4.
