One held on charge of human trafficking

Kathmandu: The District Police Office, Chitwan has arrested a person on charge of his involvement in human trafficking.

The police arrested Raj Kumar Thing aka Raju Tamang (44 years old) a resident of Hetauda Submetropolis-14, reasoning he was attempting to traffic five women to India in a lure of foreign employment. The thing was held from Narayangadh, Chitwan, and made public on Friday, according to the police chief in the district, Gautam Mishra.

Thing was found assembling girls from various parts of the country at Narayangadh and about to send them to Sunauli by bus. ‘He had collected passports from the girls by assuring them of visa stamp from India,’ police chief Mishra said, adding that they acted on tip-off.

The girls themselves had informed the police suspecting Thing’s intention. The investigation has been launched on Thing by taking permission from Chitwan District Court to detain him for four days. Similarly, the girls have been sent to safe homes.
