Kathmandu: A cabinet meeting is going on. The meeting started after 9 AM at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

The government is reportedly preparing to make decisions regarding the honors to be given during the funeral of former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana, who passed away on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Speaker Devraj Ghimire already drew the government’s attention to arrange the funeral of former Speaker Dhungana with state honors.

The relics of former Speaker Dhungana will be placed at Sano Gaucharan in Gyaneshwar, to pay tribute, from 11 AM today for people.

Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and other leaders from various political parties and sectors of society are expected to arrive there to pay their tributes.

Former Speaker Dhungana, who had been undergoing treatment for liver-related issues for some time, passed away at the age of 83 on Sunday afternoon at Frontline Hospital in Baneshwar. His body has since been kept in the morgue of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
