Kathmandu: The drama “Raiti” is being staged at Mandala Theatre, Thapagaun. The staging of the drama began on Kartik 30 (mid-November) at Mandala Theatre.

The play “Raiti” sheds light on a real issue in Nepali society. The story of the drama revolves around the folk tale of a village cursed for its inability to give birth to daughters and a mother, who is forced to leave her home because she cannot give birth to a son.

“Raiti” is a social and family drama. It highlights the daily struggles women face within families and society. The drama also emphasizes the importance of women in society.

Amar Babu Budhathoki, Keshav Rokaya, Sashank Basnet, Manish Raj Pandey, Bishal Bhandari, Ajay Karki, Yugal Shrestha, Pawan Kumar Gole, Divesh Khatri, Sachin Dahal, Sujana Pandey, Simon Prem Giri, Reshna Bhandari, Michelle Ghimire, and Saugat Bhusal are the actors who added life to the characters of the drama.

Sashank Basnet, Divesh Khatri, and Nichal Basnet are the director, writer, and producer of the drama respectively.

The efforts of all these personalities have combined to reflect the reality of society. Mandala Theatre‘s presentation has made the drama livelier.

Prepared by students of Mandala’s Lab 14, the play will run until Mangsir 9 (late November), every day at 4 PM except Mondays, with an additional show at noon on Saturdays.
