SAFF Women’s Championship: Nepal vs Sri Lanka (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: Nepal has defeated Sri Lanka in the final match of the group stage to enter the semifinal of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2024.

Nepal defeated Sri Lanka by 6-0 in Dashrath Stadium today. Rekha Paudel scored 2 and Sambitra Bhandari Samba, Rashmi Kumar Ghising, Sabita Rana Magar, and Amisha Karki scored 1 goal for Nepal.

With the victory, Nepal topped the points table of Group ‘B.’ Though Nepal and Bhutan had the same 7-7 points, Nepal advanced to the semi-final as the winner of Group B by taking a lead of 1 goal in the goal difference.

Now, Nepal will compete against India in the second semifinal on Sunday. On the same day, in the first semifinal, Bangladesh and Bhutan will compete at 1: 30 p.m.

The match began at 5:30 p.m. in Dashrath Stadium. The stadium, full of Nepali audiences, pumped up the energy of Team Nepal since the inauguration of the match.
