Police fire water cannons, tear gas against RSP cadres in Pokhara

Kathmandu: Police have fired water cannons and tear gas against the supporters of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who were staging protests against the arrest of Rabi Lamichhane in a cooperative fraud case.

Police used water cannons and tear gas against RSP cadres, who entered the prohibited area, during the protest.

Police took action after the sloganeering crowd became uncontrollable. After police used water cannons and tear gas, RSP cadres dispersed. However, they still refused to leave the prohibited area.

Likewise, some demonstrators were injured after the action of the police. Police warned to intensify the action if the demonstration did not stop.
